Preschool in Prosper, TX — Where Learning Begins with Love

Play-based programs for children 18 months to 5 years. State-licensed and faith-based, right here in Prosper.

Welcome to First Friends Preschool — A Ministry of First Baptist Church Prosper

First Friends Preschool is a state-licensed, faith-based preschool located at 601 South Church Street in Prosper, Texas, on the campus of First Baptist Church Prosper. Since 2010, we have provided a safe, loving, and developmentally rich environment where young children grow in confidence, curiosity, and character.

Our programs serve children ages 18 months through 5 years, including a Toddlers class, programs for 2–3 year olds, Pre-K for 4 year olds, a Private Kindergarten, and Before and After School Care. Whether your child is taking their first steps into a classroom or preparing for elementary school, First Friends offers a nurturing environment designed to meet them exactly where they are.

As a ministry of First Baptist Church Prosper, everything we do is grounded in faith. We believe every child is created with purpose, and our role is to help them discover that purpose through guided play, creative exploration, and a Bible-based curriculum that grows the whole child — head, heart, and hands.

We welcome families from Prosper, Celina, McKinney, Frisco, Little Elm, Aubrey, and surrounding communities throughout Collin and Denton Counties.

Play-Based Learning with Purpose

At First Friends, we believe that young children learn best through play. Research consistently shows that play-based learning in early childhood leads to stronger cognitive development, better social skills, and a deeper love of learning that carries into elementary school and beyond.

Our curriculum was developed in collaboration with professional educators and is built around a scope and sequence that covers every area of early childhood development. Through hands-on activities, creative projects, story time, music, outdoor play, and guided exploration, children develop the foundational skills they need for kindergarten readiness and lifelong success.

Every activity at First Friends is intentionally designed to support five key areas of development:

Spiritual growth

weekly chapel services for children ages 3 and up, Bible stories woven into daily lessons, and a culture of kindness, gratitude, and love

Creative expression

weekly music classes for all children, art projects, dramatic play, and sensory activities that encourage imagination and self-expression

Physical development

fine motor skills through art, cutting, and writing activities, plus gross motor skills through outdoor play and movement

Social and emotional development

learning to share, take turns, communicate feelings, resolve conflicts, and build friendships in a small, supportive classroom setting

Cognitive growth

problem solving, pattern recognition, early math, and pre-reading skills through age-appropriate activities and structured play

Unlike large daycare centers that operate on a full-day, five-day-a-week model, First Friends runs Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This intentional schedule allows young children to experience structured learning in the morning while still having time for rest, family, and unstructured play at home. For families who need extended care, we also offer Before and After School Care Monday through Thursday.

Growing the Whole Child — Head, Heart, and Hands

What sets First Friends apart from other preschools in Prosper is our commitment to growing the whole child. We do not separate academic learning from character development or spiritual formation. Instead, we weave faith into every part of the school day.

Children ages 3 and older attend weekly chapel services led by staff, where they hear Bible stories, sing worship songs, and learn foundational lessons about kindness, honesty, gratitude, and love for others. Even our youngest students experience the warmth of a faith-based environment through daily interactions with teachers who model patience, compassion, and grace.

As a ministry of First Baptist Church Prosper, we continually implement attitudes and actions that reflect both state standards and a heart that reflects the Lord. Our teachers are not just educators — they are mentors who care deeply about the children and families they serve.

We believe parents are a child’s first and most important teacher. That is why we strive to partner closely with every family, maintaining open communication and working together to support each child’s growth. At First Friends, parents are always welcome to visit, to volunteer, and to be active participants in their child’s early education journey.

Meet the Teachers Who Care for Your Child

At First Friends, our teachers are the heart of everything we do. Each member of our team is carefully selected for their experience, training, and genuine love for working with young children. Our Pre-K and Kindergarten teachers hold state certifications, and all of our staff participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

We believe that the relationship between a child and their teacher is foundational to learning. In our small classrooms, teachers have the time and space to truly know each child — their strengths, their interests, their challenges, and their personality. This personal attention is what makes the First Friends experience different from larger programs.
